George Dempster Lures  - QLD:

Dempster Lures - QLD:
George Dempster is one of the pioneer Queensland timber lure makers who was making lures in the 1970's and his lures do show up from time to time and quite easy to identify with curved metal bibs, colour schemes and body shape. George sadly passed away aged 86 years of age in October, 2017.
Although George is best known for his minnow style lures, he did experiment with lots of different shape as shown.
Small poppers are reasonably uncommon.
George Dempster made lots of small lures and his colour patterns are quite easy to distinguish. Note lure left came from Vic Mc Cristal's collection of lures.
George made a wide variety of minnow styles but also bibless lures. Although he  is best known for his minnow style lures, he did experiment with lots of different shape as shown.
Apart from the super sized Dempster minnow at the top of the photo left, there are lures with distinct 'Scorpion' influences and a couple of bibless minnows the smaller of which shows a resemblence to the old USA made Cotton Cordell 'The Spot' lure which was first released in the early to mid 1970's.
